We don’t like to give away all of our trade secrets, but we do like to offer our expertise to help make your cooking and baking ventures at home just a bit easier, if we can. That’s why we have a feature on our website called ‘Ask the Chef’ where you can email us your questions and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Recently we got a baking related question from Annie about pastry. She told us that every time she tries to roll pastry, it always falls apart. It tastes good, but looks terrible. We asked what she makes the pastry out of and Annie says all organic and vegetarian products.

We suggest chilling the dough for an hour and placing it on a piece of plastic wrap, then placing another piece of wrap on top. Roll the pastry out with the wrap on it and pull the top layer of plastic off. Place it on a pie plate, dough side down then pull of the other layer of plastic and voila, your pastry dough is ready and the plastic wrap should prevent it from falling apart when you roll it out.
