What started out 20 years ago as a one man operation with Doug Mooder at the helm, is now two successful businesses. Doug creates award winning landscape designs for residential and commercial properties in southwestern Ontario through his company, Mooder Horticulture. Plus he owns The Gardens in Elmira – a unique living showcase of landscape ideas.
The Gardens also offers a private rental space that can be used for birthday parties, Christmas get-togethers and even weddings. We’ve catered events at this location before and have always found it to be beautiful – inside and out. The gardens are (obviously) beautifully landscaped with gazebos, gorgeous stone walkways and an abundance of flora and fauna.
The inside of the facility features a rustic design complemented with modern décor. It has a sort of log cabin-like feel with wood beams, stone flooring and a wood fireplace. But the furniture and décor is also very clean and modern.
When you host an event at Mooder Gardens, you can rent the indoor Studio itself and the adjacent courtyard. The building can host up to 50 people, or 25 if it’s a sit down function. There’s a full kitchen, restroom, TV with surround sound and a fully landscaped outdoor courtyard with a children’s gazebo to entertain the younger guests.
For weddings, you can also rent the lawn on the far side of the creek and the Studio. Plus, for an additional fee, you can also have your wedding photos taken at Mooder Gardens with a beautiful backdrop for those lifetime memories. You can even do this if you host your wedding elsewhere but would like your photos taken in The Gardens.
