If you’re still looking for some last minute Christmas or host gifts for the holiday season, who doesn’t love getting chocolate – especially when they’re handmade Belgian chocolates with a community endeavour behind the scenes?

New to our Food Shoppe, we’re offering an array of chocolate goodies from Chocolate Concepts in Vaughan, which creates decadent truffles and pralines, baskets and smash cakes, and custom items for special occasions like weddings, baby showers, and of course, Christmas.

But even better than these delicious treats is the concept behind Chocolate Concepts, which started as a hobby to raise money for a day program for adults with cognitive challenges, and is now a staple in the local chocolate community.

The day program is called Alternatives and is a registered charity in Vaughan that operates on its own with more than 25 members. Chocolate Concepts is involved in the work training program and in fundraising events for the organization.

The team at Chocolate Concepts supports Alternatives’ mission of “assisting individuals living with developmental challenges to integrate meaningfully within their communities by providing both life and job-skills training and experience.”

For more information on how you can make a difference, visit: www.creatingalternatives.ca, and stop by Never Enough Thyme’s Food Shoppe to try the delicious chocolates that Chocolate Concepts creates.
