You may recall back in December 2011 when we sold “Cookies for Kate” to help support Kate’s Kause. Well, we’re joining forces again, this time with Guys & Dolls Salon and Spa for a Mother’s Day Fashion Show in support of Kate’s Kause.
Kate’s Kause is a local, charitable endeavour started by the Meissner Family for their daughter, Kate, who lives with Angelman Syndrome – a rare neurogenetic disorder characterized by a severe global developmental delay. The Kause began to raise funds to build an accessible playground in Elmira. That goal was reached, but the Kause continues so that a sensory wall can be built, which will make the playground truly accessible. This unique feature will provide a place for climbing, observation, learning, and tactile exploration to assist children who have sensory issues like Kate. This custom made feature will be well worth the $75,000 but requires the communities support and donations to be possible.
While you can donate to Kate’s Kause anytime via their online donation system, you can also attend the Mother’s Day Fashion Show on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm at guys & Dolls – 112 Oriole Parkway in Elmira. There will be an amazing fashion show, a silent auction, and yours truly will provide coffee, tea and hors d’oeuvres.
