Daffodils are a flower synonymous with spring – when you see the yellow blooms starting when the snow melts, you know that warmer weather and new beginnings are on their way. And thanks to the Canadian Cancer Society, the daffodil has also become a symbol of hope.
That’s why every April is Daffodil Month for the Canadian Cancer Society. Throughout April, volunteers across Ontario will be doing various things to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society, including selling daffodil pins and fresh daffodils.
It’s perfect that Easter happens this weekend, the same time that daffodil month begins, as we will be showing our support with daffodil cupcakes to both celebrate Easter and raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of my Dad who recently lost his battle.
“Money raised during all Daffodil Month activities helps the Society do everything it can to prevent cancer, fund research to outsmart cancer and empower, inform and support people living with cancer,” says the Society’s website.
All of the funds raised from the sale of our cupcakes will also go toward the same cause, so please stop by Never Enough Thyme this week/weekend for a delicious dessert for your Easter get-togethers, and to donate to a very worthwhile cause that is near and dear to my heart.
